Life on and off the mat

Yoga changes lives. That’s no secret. The more we practice, the more we want of these benefits, but sometimes we hit a wall. A yogic plateau. What’s up with that? And what can be done about it? In my experience as a yoga practitioner, yoga teacher and Certified Yoga Health Coach, the missing piece for people, is often, the off the mat practices. The diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices. Asana is amazing. If you never do anything but asana, your life will improve. If, however, you find yourself wanting more, it’s time to step into some of the other aspects of yoga. My Yoga On and Off the Mat programs will guide you to a deeper understanding and experience of vibrant health, for yourself, your loved ones and your community.

About Alex

I’m Alex. My aim is to inspire others to live a life of vibrant health, ease and purpose. For me, it started with yoga. With Asana. I went to my first yoga class when I was pregnant with my daughter, Stella, in hopes that it would make me a calm and centered mother. Yoga led me to the study of Ayurveda and the life changing magic of living a yogic lifestyle, both on and off the mat. I haven’t always been calm and centered, and I haven’t always loved my life. The more I study and practice yoga and Ayurveda and the more I live in tune with nature’s rhythms, the better my life becomes and the better I become, as a person, a parent, a daughter, a sister and an entrepreneur

Thoughts from Mexico

How does one process the truly amazing experiences in life? Visiting a magical place, the birth of a child, falling in love? Sadly, I think we often don't. The new baby comes filled with work, and we are often minimally supported in the care of a child. The one...

Why Live Your Best Life?

I can't start this post without mentioning the tragedy in Florida last week. While I have very strong ideas, thoughts and opinions on that terrible event, I am not going to go into those now. What I do want to talk about is how important it is, to be true to ourselves...

A New Year ~ Looking Ahead, Looking Back

New Year's Resolutions. Intentions. Vision. Goals. Letting go of what doesn't serve us. Manifesting what we desire. What do all of these things have in common? They are all future-oriented. And looking to the future is a great thing to do, essential, even, if we want...

A Thriving Kitchen

I'm a foodie. I'm embracing that fact, after years of trying to minimize it, or reconcile it with my being a yogi, a health enthusiast and Yoga Health Coach. I've come to the realization that they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they can compliment each other...
