Alex’s Story
I’m Alex. My aim is to inspire others to live a life of vibrant health, ease and purpose.
For me, it started with yoga. With Asana. I went to my first yoga class when I was pregnant with my daughter, Stella, in hopes that it would make me a calm and centered mother. Yoga led me to the study of Ayurveda and the life changing magic of living a yogic lifestyle, both on and off the mat. I haven’t always been calm and centered, and I haven’t always loved my life. The more I study and practice yoga and Ayurveda and the more I live in tune with nature’s rhythms, the better my life becomes and the better I become, as a person, a parent, a daughter, a sister and an entrepreneur.
Now, I want to inspire others to live their lives fully through the practice of yoga and Ayurveda. Ayurveda is considered the sister science of yoga. It truly is the art and science of living. While we all have different goals, we all have a desire to live our lives to the fullest. It takes some work, for sure, but living a vibrant, purposeful life is worth some effort, don’t you think?
We’re all busy, I get that. I’m a full-time single mom of an amazing teenage girl. I’ve got a dog and cat, three jobs and I run my own business. Somewhere in there I need to make time to move my body and prepare healthy, real food for my family. But, here’s thing – it’s the Ayurvedic daily habits, the healthy eating and exercising, and the feeling that my life has purpose, that make it all possible. Without that, I’d be flailing. (Believe me, I still flail sometimes!)
By the way, I’m not a perfectionist and I’m not into dogma. I guide people to take small, manageable steps towards their goals. My path has been windy and bumpy. I can support you because I’m like you – perfectly imperfect.
I’ve had the great fortune to have studied with great teachers and mentors. I am a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 hour yoga teacher, having received my first teacher training certification from the Temple of Kriya Yoga, in Chicago. I am a Licensed Anusara Inspired Teacher. I count Jamie Allison, Christina Sell and Jeanie Manchester as my beloved teachers of Anusara and alignment-based hatha yoga. Cate Stillman has been both my teacher and mentor of Ayurveda and Entrepreneurship for the past seven years. I became a Certified Yoga Health Coach, through Cate’s program.
