Life on and off the mat

Yoga changes lives. That’s no secret. The more we practice, the more we want of these benefits, but sometimes we hit a wall. A yogic plateau. What’s up with that? And what can be done about it? In my experience as a yoga practitioner, yoga teacher and Certified Yoga Health Coach, the missing piece for people, is often, the off the mat practices. The diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices. Asana is amazing. If you never do anything but asana, your life will improve. If, however, you find yourself wanting more, it’s time to step into some of the other aspects of yoga. My Life On and Off the Mat programs will guide you to a deeper understanding and experience of vibrant health, for yourself, your loved ones and your community.

About Alex

I’m Alex. My aim is to inspire others to live a life of vibrant health, ease and purpose. For me, it started with yoga. With Asana. I went to my first yoga class when I was pregnant with my daughter, Stella, in hopes that it would make me a calm and centered mother. Yoga led me to the study of Ayurveda and the life changing magic of living a yogic lifestyle, both on and off the mat. I haven’t always been calm and centered, and I haven’t always loved my life. The more I study and practice yoga and Ayurveda and the more I live in tune with nature’s rhythms, the better my life becomes and the better I become, as a person, a parent, a daughter, a sister and an entrepreneur

Yoga in the time of COVID

When I started doing yoga, all of my teachers stressed the importance of a home practice. Our home practice, we were told, supplemented and supported our class practice and vice versa. I don’t hear many teachers saying this today. Is it because they assume we have a...

Real Yoga & Good Wine Do Exist

Not long ago, I didn’t like when people used the term “real yoga.” With so many different styles of yoga today, who has the right to claim that their yoga is any more “real,” than anyone else’s?That’s what I reasoned. If I enjoy it and it makes...

Pandemic Meditation

This is my first post since we were hit with COVID-19 and Stay-at-Home Orders. I haven’t been clear on what I wanted to write about. I could give Ayurveda Tips for Armageddon (I still might!).  I could talk about the effect this is having on our collective psyche (I’m...
